Facebook failed to provide its users news summary and ended his Notify application. Just seven months after its initial debut, the new application of social network, which provides push notifications for breaking news, no longer exists.
"Thank you for using Notify", reads the notice given to users in this morning. "We are making a transition functions Notify other products Facebook, and no application will be supported".
Notify has been officially launched last November and gave Facebook users convenient access to news from more than 70 publishers. The app provides brief summaries of news in real time, providing an opportunity for users to see the full story if they wished.
The only problem is that being an application that offers virtually nothing new, Notify quickly lost its appeal. With the passage of time, people stopped to leave download the application into oblivion with only 63,000 downloads in total.
It is no wonder that Facebook has taken this step because of the complete failure of the news application. But of course, the social network does not give up and plans to continue innovating other products it offers.
"Starting Wednesday, we began to integrate reporting functionality of other products of Facebook, as Messenger" as reported by the company.
"With more than 900 million people each month with Messenger, we believe there is great opportunity for publishers to get more people interested with real - time updates from your favorite sources."
Publishers who ever used Notify now invite users to continue their Facebook pages to continue receiving notifications of the latest news.
