Surface 4 Pro, features, price and specifications

The new Surface 4 Pro is a victory for Microsoft. After three generations of offering "a tablet that can replace your laptop". Unfortunately it is not a formula had great success in any of the three occasions, but has finally taken root.

The tablet of Microsoft Surface 4 Pro has the most advanced Intel processors. A slightly larger screen, with a perfect size of 12.3 inches and an ideal ratio of 3: 2. As with several settings and software components, but not radically change the style of its predecessor, the powerful Surface Pro 3 launched in 2014.

Copra a Surface 4 Pro is a smart move. Because right now the Surface Pro line is less about trying to sell the concept of a PC tablet with detachable keyboard. And it is more focused on seeing how far you can refine your product.

By observing the polished Surface 4 Pro, it is worth remembering the humble beginnings of the Surface line. When it debuted in 2012, the line of tablets from Microsoft, but did not receive exaggerated criticism was not given much recognition.

Some described it as an exaggerated effort of a software company and services to enter the dynamic world of hardware. Others said it was a desperate attempt to respond to the enormous success of Apple iPad last year. And any innovation in design (removable keyboard or the folding base) were overwhelmed by having features that were inadequate.

But all that is now water, the product was Ballmer. The Surface Pro 3 2014 became what Microsoft had always expected it to be: the flagship Windows Touch device. The alternative for those who wanted a tablet and a PC in a single device without any of them had serious weaknesses.

The Surface Pro 4 further refines the formula of hardware and now Windows 10 instead of Windows 8, the only major drawback was the platform has evaporated. The Surface line is also now the leader in design. The new Apple iPad Pro and Google Pixel C are those that mimic the design of Microsoft with removable keyboards and new capabilities multitask in their operating systems.

But although it is a highly refined product, the Pro 4 is not economical, has a high price to be willing to pay. The handful of systems we have tested above M Core processors, is surely not what you are looking at a computer for everyday use. A more convenient when buying a Surface 4 Pro option would be the Intel Core i5 processor. Microsoft has updated processors across the Surface Pro 4 line to the still new sixth generation of Intel, known as Skylake.

With such a configuration Intel Core i5 that causes the price to rise up to 1360 €. If the storage capacity to 256GB doubles the RAM to 8GB, and choose an Intel Core i7 6th generation, the price shoots to 1580 €.
