Connect your iPhone to your computer using a USB cable.
Next, launch iTunes on your computer. Select your iPhone from the top left menu.
On your Mac: Hold the OPTION and Command Key then click the “Restore” button.
On your Windows: Hold SHIFT and then click the “Restore” button.
Now, you need to navigate and select the IPSW file you have just downloaded.
iTunes will alert you that your iOS device will be erased and you will lose all your data. Just go ahead with the process and install the iOS 9.3.5 on your device.
Once the process has been completed successfully, iTunes will confirm you. The iPhone will reboot to the welcome screen.
Now, restore your backup as usual. Only the backup which you had made on iOS 9.3.5 or older will work.
OR TRY THIS #2:
Download the iOS 9.3.5 firmware file on your computer. Make sure to turn off Find My iPhone on your smartphone. (Settings → iCloud → Find My iPhone)
Connect your iPhone to the computer. Open iTunes.
Up next, you have to
put your iPhone into DFU mode
. Just hold down both Power and Home buttons for about 10 seconds.
Then, release the Power button but continue to the Home button until your iPhone has entered DFU mode. iTunes will alert you that it has discovered a device in Recovery Mode.
Now follow the steps mentioned from 4 to 5 to get the job done.
