Before iOS 10 read receipts could only be set globally, causing that all your conversations are not seen or such confirmations. From iOS 10 you can now choose who will see when you read their iMessages and who is not, as this feature can be set individually for each conversation.
Because now you can limit the function to specific conversations, then we'll show brief tutorial on how to configure this feature correctly.
How to configure read receipts based on each conversation
- Open the messages application and start the conversation you want to set the custom settings confirmation reading.
- Then do tap on button (i) found the top right of the conversation, in the navigation bar.
- Move the switch to send read receipts to position on or off, depending on your preferences for that specific conversation.
- Make the blue button tap "Done" located on the top right of the interface, to save your settings.
And that's all, and have configured notifications reading for a given conversation, so this change will not affect the other conversations in your messaging application.
It is worth mentioning that you can still continue to use the Settings application to configure read receipts. To do this, open the app and go to Settings -> Messages -> send read receipts.
When you change the settings read confirmation from the app settings, this action will overwrite any setting that has been made in specific conversations from the Messages application.
Most likely, prefer read receipts configure your conversations from the Messages app, as it is more comfortable.
