Apple releases iOS 10.2 beta 2 with new emojis and more

On this day, Apple has released the second beta for developers of IOS 10.2. The new version of the operating system for mobile devices includes several future features such as the new emoji unicode 9.0, three new wallpapers for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus backgrounds, additional camera functions and more.

It is not yet known when publicly available iOS 10.2 will be released, but in the meantime the Cupertino company has a free public beta program available worldwide. So, you just have to wait for Apple to release iOS 10.2 beta 2 for beta testers and test the new features (it usually takes no more than a week to free iOS for beta testers).

Here are some of the initial changes discovered in iOS 10.2 beta:
Three new wallpapers in iOS 10.2 beta (only for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus)

  • New widget for Videos app
  • New "Preserve Camera" setting
  • New emoji (seems to be an update to unicode 9.0 / also available in macOS 10.12.2 and watchOS 3.1.1)
  • New 'Press and hold to talk' menu in the home button accessibility settings
  • New "Celebration" screen effect on messages
  • New 'Show Star Ratings' option in music app settings
  • New headset icon on status bar for Bluetooth audio devices

* For owners of an iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, the update includes three new wallpapers one drop of blue, red and yellow. This may be a response to complaints about iOS 10, which came with only a new wallpaper when it was released publicly this September.
