A new article in The Korea Economic Daily says that Apple is working with LG on a new module for dual camera capabilities offer 3D photography.
The company LG, one of the largest in the technology market, Apple now provides the dual camera modules used in the iPhone 7 Plus.
However, this "3D camera" next - generation iPhone will be implemented in 2017, possibly on the iPhone 8 Plus.
Will Apple surprise with a 3D dual camera on the iPhone 8 Plus?
The LG Innotek system is said to be intended for one or more models of the iPhone to be launched in 2017. Perhaps only on the iPhone 8 Plus, following the strategy that Apple has marked with the iPhone 7 Plus. Or maybe in all models, which in this case is rumored to be three.
As indicated by the source, it is not entirely clear what Apple 3D applications have in mind. The apple bite company currently has patents for 3D objects and gesture recognition for many years.
Anyway, it could be simply the next generation of portrait mode that Apple introduced with the release of the iOS version 10.1 especially intended for the iPhone 7 Plus and dual camera.
Portrait mode uses the effect 'parallax' to create a 3D model of the scene to identify the background and nearby items captured by the cameras of the iPhone.
On the other hand, the company Cupertino is expected to incorporate the Portrait Mode to all iPhone models next year, which would require a dual camera module much more compact than the existing one.
What do you think about the collaboration between Apple and LG? Did you know that LG made dual cameras? What benefits do you think the 3D camera of the iPhone 8 will provide?
