Following the release of iOS in September Apple introduced the functions Slide Over and Split View , which together with picture-in-picture give users the ability to interact with multiple applications simultaneously on the iPad.

In the case of Slide Over , which has a sidebar for quick action on supported apps, the functionality is compatible with iPad Mini 2, iPad Mini 3, iPad Mini 4, iPad Air, iPad Air 2 and iPad Pro.
