Some rumors have warned that we have to wait until the new year for AirPods reach us, but a number of retailers expected to arrive much earlier.
Apparently shipments of wireless headphones begin before the end of the month.
With the new Apple W1 wireless chip, the AirPods are the ideal complement to iPhone in July, the first Apple iPhone without a headphone jack. They are also easy to set up (easy to lose), more efficient and more reliable than traditional Bluetooth headsets, as said by the Cupertino company itself
At first, the AirPods were expected to go on sale in October, in conjunction with Phone 7, but a series of complications forced Apple to postpone the launch of wireless headsets.
Since then, an official launch date has not been offered, so some sources speculate that the AirPods will not arrive soon as was originally believed.
However, a French retailer (Fnac) began taking pre-orders for the AirPods this week, promising that shipments would be made on November 30, a few weeks before the most celebrated holiday dates globally. Meanwhile, a Czech retailer (Alza) promises that wireless headsets would be available by December.
Some Apple stores have already received AirPods units that meet the demo for customers, suggesting that the release is closer. Apple is surely doing its best to make sure that the headphones are on sale for the holidays when the demand is higher.
However, it should be noted that none of this has been confirmed by Apple, so you should not hope. The company has succumbed to a state of lethargy about its plans for the AirPods since the delayed launch in late October.
