A few days ago Ken Segall, creative former director of Apple, said in an interview that "Elon Musk is the new Steve Jobs" and even joked with the possibility that the entrepreneur was future CEO of the company, in a Hypothetical merger of Tesla and Apple. Obviously, to date, that possibility is practically nil, but what could Apple bring that someone like Musk would take over?
Who is Elon Musk?
For those who do not know, it is one of the brightest minds of our era. Creator of several companies, including Zip2, PayPal, Tesla Motors and SolarCity, his fortune is estimated at around 11,000 million.
It currently has several ongoing projects, two of which promise to change history as we know it : SpaceX, which aims to bring a team of astronauts to Mars, and Hyperloop, a new method of consistent transport in a tube containing air At low pressure, where capsules circulate on an air mattress that would connect cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco in just 35 minutes. The same journey can be done by car in five and a half hours.
What could Apple bring?
The Cupertino have always been a leader in innovation, but Ken Segall is one of the most critical men with Tim Cook, whom he blames the lack of current creativity of the company despite new technologies such as 3D Touch or dual chamber optics, and therefore believes that Elon Musk would be the ideal medium for Apple is a benchmark in terms of innovation new man.
Doing an exercise of imagination with its flagship product, the iPhone, we could expect a revolutionary battery because Musk has experience in creating batteries for Tesla. Related to cars, Apple already has its CarPlay system to adapt its software to the automotive world, but it would be logical to think of a clear improvement in the operating system, which is at a very early stage today.
Nor would it be at all unreasonable one futurible iCar, a car 100% designed by Apple (in collaboration with Tesla) that would revolutionize the automotive world as Tesla Motors is doing today. Even improvements in its services, like Apple Pay thanks to the experience of Musk with PayPal, or who knows if even a hypothetical solar charge innovating through SolarCity.
And what do you think? Would you like someone like Elon Musk to become the new Apple CEO? Or do you think Tim Cook is the perfect president for the company? Tell it!
