How to view history of sites visited by other users on Mac

If you use parental controls on your Mac, you can view a list of web sites visited in Safari or another browser controlled by any of the users and view the date and time visited websites. This is a very useful feature, especially if you are a parent and need to know that your children are not doing improper things on the Internet

To see when a specific website was accessed in any of the accounts of the controlled users, simply follow these steps:

  • Open the System Preferences application on your Mac and go to the "Parental Controls" preferences panel.

Then click the lock button to unlock the preferences panel.

Enter your administrator password when you are prompted for authentication.

Click the user where you want to know more information in the sidebar of the parental controls preferences panel.

  • Once selected, open the "Web" tab and click on the "Records ..." button in the lower right of the preferences panel.
  • In the new window, open the "Web" tab.

  • Click the drop-down arrow for any item in the list of websites, and then click the next drop-down arrow.

If you followed the steps to the letter, you will see the date and time of the accesses of all the websites of a certain user account.

Optionally, you can also clear your history by clicking the button "Delete record", located in the lower left panel Parental Controls preferences.

Because this works in several different web browsers, be it Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc., you get to see a full history log, regardless of the type of browser that is used.
