LG will manufacture the folding screens of the Apple iPhone 8

One of the lesser strengths of Apple is certainly optics and image as widespread. While they have high quality retina screens, you can see the know-how and experience of Samsung or Sony in other products such as TV. But those of Cupertino want to reinforce that section with another classic in the world of household appliances: LG.

And it has already resolved the question about the Apple supplier : from 2018 they will be the responsible for providing the screens of large - scale iPhone. And of course , the folding screens that both rumored also borne by LG.

Over the past three years , LG has shown several prototypes of futuristic screens curved, including one with a book or other that can be rolled up like a scroll, both making use of the inherent flexibility of OLED technology and light years away from the LCD display rigid Of the current iPhone.

As you know by rumors of which we echo, the new iPhone will feature an OLED screen and borderless glass casing , but some sources indicate that the new iPhone could become curved and not roll or fold. With more than 10 different prototypes of iPhone, the exact design is complicated to accurately specify.

One of the main handicaps of these fabrications is the price, and that prototype LG have a fairly high cost, but thanks to economies of scale is expected prices to fall and can be implemented not only on iPhone but other Terminals. Curiously, unlike Apple or Samsung, LG has not yet patented its own technology to fold the screen.

This collaboration between LG and Apple has all the earmarks of having a single objective: to stand up to Samsung and its leadership in displays. Also, another option may be that Samsung wants to not implement its patents and new technologies in this field and has been doing so far his most direct competitor, Apple.
