The latest leaks about what the Galaxy S8 point to a mobile with a better screen but higher resolution, USB Type C and 3.5 mm jack will not.
Samsung has to bet hard on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and at the same time make sure that it is going to be a success. It is a difficult dilemma but its position as dominant player in the world of smartphones is being played.
Its new star terminal, which will presumably be announced at the Barcelona congress in late February, begins to profile itself according to new leaks.
Better display but maintaining resolution
Samsung displays are among the best on the market and that is not directly related to its resolution.
The Galaxy S8 would bet on a 2K AMOLED panel, like that of its predecessor, but made of new materials. That is, on paper there would be no changes in numbers but we would be facing a higher quality screen.
It will use the standard RGB mode, consume less battery life and increase its life, one of the most important defects of Samsung's current AMOLED screens.
The company would have bet not increase the resolution not to penalize autonomy, something that is key especially now that it seems that the idea of Note 7 has not been the best. In addition, this will allow a lower cost for part of this piece.
Home button disappears
This is a movement that had been speculated but appears to be beginning to confirm, always within the veracity of the rumors .
It seems that Samsung wants to increase the maximum possible ratio of screen on the front so the fingerprint sensor will either be under the screen or in the back area and the functions of the haptic and physical buttons will surely switch to virtual buttons.
A Galaxy S with USB Type C
Last year we were surprised to see the Galaxy S7 without USB Type C when many rivals began to implement it. Yes it was mounted in Note 7 but after removing it from the sale Samsung does not have any high range with this connector.
The Galaxy S8 would be the first to bring a massive scale, taking advantage of the new Gear VR with this connection as well as improvements own USB Type C.
Goodbye to the 3.5 mm audio jack
After the movement of Le Eco, then Motorola and later Apple was a matter of time that Samsung did the same.
It seems that the new smartphone will not have 3.5mm jack for headphones and cable connection will be diverted to the USB Type C, this being another reason to incorporate.
It remains to be seen if it is free space is occupied in implementing more battery or stereo speakers, something that has also been rumored recently.
