On the tenth anniversary of the appearance of iPhone to the public, we see how the market coexist in several editions of iPhone in three different sizes: 7 iPhone screen 4.7 inches, the iPhone 7 Plus 5.5 inches and the last IPhone model released to date, iPhone SE, with an aesthetics, shape and size very similar to the successful iPhone 5 4-inch screen that such good memories bring both users and Cupertino.
But how has evolved the size of the iPhone in 10 years? Much has rained since Steve Jobs came on the scene showing the world what is undoubtedly Apple's best launch to date, his iPhone. In this post we will analyze the variation of size and where Apple is headed.
How the size of the iPhone has evolved in 10 years
IPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS
The original iPhone was a device of 4.5 inches, 135 grams in weight and an exact dimensions of 115 x 61 x 11.6 mm, although its screen had a size of 3.5 inches due to a fairly thick frame with respect to What we are accustomed to. The younger ones will not remember, but their shapes were rounded and were bicolor: the bottom was metallic and black top.
That same aesthetic and almost the same measures are found in the 2nd generation iPhone, the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS later: 115.5 x 62.1 x 12.3 mm. The weight does not differ much either, 133 and 135 grams respectively. Virtually the only way to differentiate them outwardly was to read the name of the model, which was engraved on the back.
