How to use your Samsung Gear with iPhone

As you know, for a few days the wearables Samsung Gear S2, S3 and Gear Fit 2 are compatible with iOS , which means that we can use our iPhone to monitor our data. If you have iPhone and one of the compatible wearables, we teach you how to get the most out of your synchronization: login, download apps, configure S health. Keep reading.

Preparing your wearable Samsung Gear

The first thing we will do is prepare the wearable Samsung Gear. If it's new, just turn it on and wait for it to start . If you were already using it with an Android device, you will have to restore it in order to synchronize it with another smartphone, in our case iPhone.

To restore your Samsung gear go to Settings > Gear info and click Restore and then Restore Factory. Once you confirm, let the clock reset, which will take a few minutes. Once it restarts, it will be ready.

Syncing your Samsung Gear with iPhone

To synchronize your Samsung wearable with your iPhone you will need to download the Gear S app from the App Store for S2 and S3 or Gear Fit for Samsung Gear Fit 2. Here we leave you both:

If you have a Samsung Gear S2 or Samsung Gear S3 :

If you have a Samsung Gear Fit 2 :

Once installed, open it and allow it to detect your smartwatch via Bluetooth - obvious but, you need to have Bluetooth enabled -. Once you "see" it, click on connect. You will be asked to insert a code on your iPhone that will appear on the Samsung watch screen. Confirm on both devices, with their corresponding licenses and voila, synchronized devices!

To take advantage of both devices to the maximum it is advisable to allow your iPhone access to location, calendars and photos .

Configuring S Health

To get started with the health app S Health, click on the Gear app on that section. Enter your account information S Health or create a new account there . Once you are registered, S Health will record your steps and your dream. You can also record data such as your heart rate, workouts, your water intake and caffeine. All this data will sync later on your iPhone, but oh misfortune! They will not be integrated into the native iOS Health app . Crude error.

Download apps and looks for your watch

Samsung watches have several fantastic apps of their own and some interesting designs for the interface . To add them, go to the Settings section of the Gear app and then click on Samsung Galaxy Apps .

Within the store you can navigate using the menu button in the upper right corner. You can also see what apps you've downloaded in the My apps section, on both iPhone and previous smartphones.

When you find an app that you want to install, simply click on the download button, accept and the process will start . You'll see a status bar that tells you when the app is ready to use on your device.
