Haptic feedback enhances the user experience on newer iPhones models, and taking advantage of this feature, a new jailbreak tweak called TapticPasscodeButtons brings the experience of using haptic feedback to the lock screen password, and takes advantage of engine power "Taptic" to do it.
The way TapticPasscodeButtons work is fairly simple; If you touch any of the lock screen password buttons, you will feel some vibrations coming from the taptic engine on your mobile. You will feel the same amount of haptic feedback when you enter your access code, ie a vibration for each touch of a number button.
Because the tweak is based on the taptic engine, it only works on the iPhone 6s / 6s Plus and the iPhone 7/7 Plus. That said, if you do not have one of these devices with haptic capability, the tweak will not work .
Although the iPhones of the previous generation have a vibration engine, this one works somewhat different from the taptic engine, therefore they are incompatible technologies.
As for the consumption of the battery in taptic motor devices, most people use the Touch ID on a regular basis anyway, so it is doubtful that there is a lot of battery consumption. Regardless, the tapic motor is supposed to be more energy efficient than a vibration motor, so the battery consumption should at the most be lower.
