IPhone sales have fallen for the first time in China by an annual count. Apple's 2016 sales were estimated at a total of 44.9 million units , with less than 10% market share.
These data indicate that sales of Apple smartphones have dropped 23% compared to those of 2015. On the other hand, it is quite logical considering that China has a market dominated by smartphone brands such as Huawei, Vivo and Oppo .
These companies (some of which are internationally unknown) account for half of smartphone sales in China. In fact, Oppo sales have grown up to 100% last year .
Apple needs to gain market share in China
The efforts of Apple, especially Tim Cook, to make a dent in the Chinese market have been unbeatable, but insufficient. Local brands offer more or less the same features as the iPhone but at a much lower economic cost .
Thus, Apple has lost bellows in China's sales lists, this fall has come just as the apple bite company is looking for new avenues to develop marketing tactics for the iPhone's sales growth.
Investors are waiting for the arrival of the new iPhone 8 of 2017 in order that Apple manage to overcome in the market of China thanks to a much coveted redesign of the terminal (they affirm the rumors). But, for what it seems to be, iPhone 7 has not really excited consumers in China .
As we are informed from the blog 9to5mac Apple has sold 15 million iPhone in the last quarter of 2016 , which would represent a 13% drop. What do you think about this data?
