Afternoon but sure: iOS 11 is already compatible with GIFs in your Photos app

GIFs have become one of the most widely used communication methods in the world . Not only do they add a fun point to the chat, but we can also send a message without typing so much.

However, the GIFs stored in a device with iOS 10 -or earlier- were not reproduced, they were like a static image in our terminal. But that has changed, since with iOS 11 we will be able to reproduce all the GIFs that we have stored in the reel of our camera of a very comfortable way .

All at one touch

Now, when we open the Photos application we can see that there is a new folder called "Animated" . Just by seeing the name we can already imagine what it means.

To this folder will stop all the moving images that we keep in our terminal, including the GIFs. Do not do anything special to reproduce them, just download them and see them as if it were a normal image .

What happens if I do not have an iPhone 5s or higher?

If you have an iPhone 5c or earlier, you will not be able to upgrade to iOS 11. So if you want to play a GIF you will have to do it through third-party apps . In the App Store there are plenty, so you will not have any problems finding one that suits your needs.

However, here we are going to recommend GIF Viewer , an app that besides being free, works very well. If you want to download, here we leave the link.

IOS 11 is proving to be a very mature and stable system . Perhaps this small addition seems insignificant to many, but to others it means a sign that Apple is increasingly aware of the shortcomings of its mobile operating system.

Do you plan to install iOS 11 on your device? Leave your answer in the comments!
