IOS 11 on iPad: Redesign in Control Center, Dock, Multitasking and more

Apple's WWDC 2017 is over, and it's time to analyze in detail all the news that has been presented at the developer conference.

First of all Apple introduced watchOS 4 and macOS High Sierra, leaving aside TOS 11 until the end of 2017. Finally came iOS 11, and then new iPad Pro models and the HomePod smart speaker.

Interestingly, in the case of iOS 11, Apple has revealed some features exclusive to iPad that unfortunately will not be present on iPhone. But they will turn the iPad Pro into much more complete and productive tools.

What are the new features of iOS 11 in the iPad Pro?

Aside from all the new features and changes in the iOS 11 UI, Apple has improved some aspects of the operating system on the iPad in a rather interesting way.

It should be noted that the company has not specified whether these changes will be available on all iOS 11 compatible iPad models or if they will only be implemented in the software of the iPad Pro models.

Now iOS 11 will bring a new Dock to the iPad. That's right, it has a spectacular design, very similar to that of macOS, but the most important of all is that it will allow us to add as many apps as we want. So far iOS users could only include 6 apps in the dock.

In addition, now the Dock can be activated from any application.

The iOS 11 multitasking, as the rumors pointed out, also offers benefits worthy of mention. We can take applications of the Dock to the Slide Over function by sliding our finger on the screen.

In addition, the design of the multitasking UI on the iPad has also changed slightly in iOS 11. This version will allow dragging and dropping elements from one application to another in Split View.

Apple has introduced a new file management system for iPad in iOS 11 called Files. This system will include support for 3rd party cloud service providers such as Dropbox, Box, Google Drive and OneDrive.

App Switcher

Finally, the iOS 11 App Switcher has received a redesign of its design. App Switcher, for those unfamiliar with the concept, is the screen that shows iOS when we want to switch from one app to another. Well, now the App Switcher has a much more productive and functional design, showing the Control Center, the Dock and open applications in a smaller size.
