Some versions of the iMac Pro could exceed € 15,000

Some special versions of the new iMac Pro that Apple presented during the 2017 WWDC conference could cost more than € 15,000.

Apple unveiled its iMac Pro with a new cooling system, 8-, 10- and 18-core Intel Xeon processors, 128GB RAM, 4 TB SSD memory modules, 4 Thunderbolt ports and a base cost of $ 4,999.

But Apple has yet to present the official prices of the iMac Pro model top. However, according to analysts, its price could be exorbitant.

Why the iMac Pro can cost € 15,000?

The first thing is the processor. Assuming that the iMac Pro top model has an E5-2697 Xeon the cost of an 18-core processor could be more than $ 2,200. In addition, if Apple applies its usual 70% improvement its cost would rise to $ 4,000.

For its part, the 128 GB RAM would raise the cost around $ 2,700. Unfortunately we do not know available estimates about the update of the memory Pro Vega HBM2 16 GB, but could perfectly add another $ 2,000.

Finally we would add to the total cost the SSD estimate of 4 TB , for about $ 3,600. Are you keeping the account? If we add all the components their price would have already increased to $ 12,300. Add to this the manufacturing, i + d, marketing and other components of the base model of the iMac Pro ($ 4,999) , the total cost would reach about $ 17,299.

It is an estimate, but it is likely to be. It is a very high price, maybe too much, but it must be recognized that it is one of the most powerful and spectacular equipment in the world.

What do you think about all this? Do you think the Apple iMac Pro is too expensive? Are we getting a little crazy in the world of technology? Are you thinking about buying an iMac Pro? Share your opinion with us on social networks and comments.
