This is proof that the new iPad Pro are faster than MacBook Pro

During the WWDC 2017 that took place a couple of weeks ago, Apple introduced two new 10.5 "and 12.9" iPad Pro models with internal enhancements related to its performance including the integration of more powerful processors. And as you know, the idea of Apple is to try to move the notebooks for its new tablets for professionals , and in fact according to the latest benchmarks, those of Cupertino have created a real monster capable of drawing colors to the very MacBook Pro .

To prove this, the blog BareFeats has opted to submit a series of benchmarks to several models of MacBook Pro 2016 and 2017 - the Touch Bar, authentic jewels with i7 processors, 16GB of RAM and Intel graphics - with the brand new iPad Pro .

These are the specifications of the analyzed models:

2017 MacBook Retina 13 "to 3.5GHz Dual-Core i7 processor, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 650 GPU, 16GB RAM and 1TB storage
2016 MacBook Retina 13 "to 3.1GHz Dual-Core i7 processor, Intel Iris Graphics 550 GPU, 16GB RAM and 1TB storage

  • 2017 iPad Pro 12.9 "to 2.39GHz with A10X processor, 512GB of storage and 4GB RAM
  • 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 "to 2.39GHz with A10X processor, 512GB of storage and 4GB RAM
  • 2015 iPad Pro 12.9 "to 2.26GHz with A9X processor, 128GB of storage and 4GB RAM
  • 2016 iPad Pro 9.7 "to 2.24GHz with A9X processor, 256GB of storage and 2GB RAM

The tests are a series of GeekBench and GFXBench that will analyze the performance of the CPU and GPU.

Regarding CPU performance in a single core, the MacBook Pro is the clear winner in both the 2017 and 2016 versions. Of course, the iPad Pro 2017 is the best in the category of tablets.

The surprise comes with multi-core CPU performance , where even though the MacBook Pro 2017 is the best, the iPad Pro 2017 in full will be positioned above the MacBook Pro 2016, something incredible, given the specifications and Price of the latter.

As for the Geekbench tests on GPUs, the 10.5 "iPad Pro beats all devices including any MacBook Pro , followed by the 12.9" model and surprisingly, from last year's MacBook Pro.

Finally, the devices are subjected to graphic tests GFXBench where again the iPad come out winners .

As always, we want to make some qualifications regarding these tests, which do not necessarily have to be extrapolated to the actual use , and is that not because a device achieves better score in an arbitrary test means that it will be faster in daily life. In addition, the resolution and screen sizes also affect , and is that the MacBook Pro has it bigger, so they are harmed in GPU tests, something that is not even able to minimize their best specifications. Also, iOS is tremendously optimized for iPad , so it will always be more fluid than MacOS.

However, one thing is clear: the iPad Pro are very powerful and fast, capable of supporting your daily professional tasks without being disheveled about a normal laptop ... and even a new model and as powerful as a MacBook Pro.
