Apple was inspired by Star Wars to design the EarPods and AirPods

Jony Ive, Apple's chief design engineer, has participated in a new interview conducted by The Wall Street Journal and has stated that the company was inspired by the Star Wars Galactic Empire Assault Troops to design the EarPods and, Years later, the Bluetooth AirPods.

According to Jony Ive, when he saw Star Wars Imperial Assault Troop uniforms, he was amazed and thought to replicate a similar design for the iPhone and iPad audio playback accessories.

In fact, he told the director JJ Abrams that he had in mind a style similar to that of the white armor of the soldiers of the Empire when designing the EarPods. This is how Jony Ive put the very Star Wars Empire in our pockets.

Star Wars: The Awakening of the Force was also inspired by Apple

To curl the curl during an interview in 2015, Mark Kaplan also revealed that he was inspired by Jony Ive's designs to create the new First Order Assault Troops uniforms .

But there is more, Jony Ive talked to JJ Abrams and offered a great idea for the design of another of the new symbols of the universe Star Wars: Kylo Ren. According to Abrams, Jony Ive told her she would love to see a rougher, more brutal, "sparking" saber .

This is how Star Wars has become a source of inspiration for Jony Ive's design ideas on Apple ... and vice versa!

During the interview, Jony Ive also talked about the architectural process of Apple Park and how it has been bringing the vision of Steve Jobs to real life.

Now, now Apple already has the ideal excuse to introduce some new AirPods (and EarPods) in black ... Some Imperial AirPods!

And that said ... Let the audio accompany you!
