Are you from La Caixa? You will soon have Apple Pay

As all iPhone users know, Apple Pay is only available (in Spain) at Banco Santander . This means that if we wanted to use Apple Pay to pay for a coffee with the iPhone NFC, we had to be members of Santander unless we used a certain application that allowed us to use it through prepaid cards.

If you, like many other people, are not a member of Santander and are looking forward to using Apple Pay, today I will brighten your day. La Caixa is about to support Apple Pay for all its members . That means that by the end of this year 2017, La Caixa members will be able to add their credit cards to Apple Pay.

"We firmly believe that Apple Pay is a great example of how financial institutions can work together with the technology industry to develop new services for the benefit of the customer. Apple Pay is a step forward in CaixaBank's commitment to the mobile payment and reinforces a totally differential commercial range in the market thanks to the combination of technology and development of exclusive services totally focused on offering the best user experience "

What if I am not a member of La Caixa?

Undoubtedly, it is great news. But what happens if we are not customers of La Caixa ? Do we have to change? Of course not. That La Caixa now allows the use of Apple Pay is a big step for Spain. This will create competition among the other banks that are very likely to want to implement the Apple Pay service so that other banks do not take the lead and thus lose customers.

Do not forget that technology always moves everywhere . In our country we are quite conservative and sometimes it costs that the new technologies take root , but little by little everything arrives and before you realize, we will be paying a coffee with our iPhone .
