Have you mistaken Apple with the HomePod?

The HomePod was one of the innovations Apple presented at the WWDC this summer . The device is intended to be a bluetooth speaker with Siri for home use that will also be able to use Apple HomeKit.

However, Samsung has not even intended to rival Apple's HomePod . What is this about? Apparently, Samsung does not intend to make any device to make the competition to Apple in this area, but not because they can not compete, rather because they do not see the market in this sector .

According to recent rumors, while Samsung was working on the recently released Bixby Voice device in the United States, he realized that the market was too small to take advantage of it . In addition, this device could only be used if you had a Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 +, something that may change in the future because of the limitations this entails and the little market it would cover.

Maybe it's not such a bad idea the HomePod

However, sources close to Samsung have confirmed that the Korean company was developing a device to make it competitive to Alexa from Amazon, Google Home and, of course, HomePod . The Samsung device is codenamed "Vega", and apparently has been in development for about two years .

Other sources assert with total authority that this is a lie . They claim that Samsung has absolutely no interest in launching a smart speaker soon and that now they are only focusing on improving their current speaker, Bixby Voice, which is only available in English.

What we can confirm is that probably Samsung will not implement a smart speaker soon to make the competition to Apple , however the company has been exploring similar products to be able to develop them in the future. After all, Bixby very surely, even without being a smart speaker, will get to rival the owners of the sector.
