Top WhatsApp Security Tips

Nowadays, there are few people who do not use WhatsApp. From the youngest to the oldest, WhatsApp is one of the most used instant messaging applications in our country . But it is not only popular here, in India it is the most downloaded application and it has 200 million users only in that country .

So much popularity can not be good, scammers and spammers know perfectly well that WhatsApp is one of the most used and loved applications in the world. And it is that in this application is much easier to spread fraudulent content or spam .

How do I know if a message is false or is it advertising?

The WhatsApp team provided a poster to help us differentiate false or spam messages from reliable messages . In this poster we present 4 points to take into account to improve our security using the application.

1. You can make the experience more secure

To begin with, you must take into account the four commandments of security : do not forward, touch or share suspicious messages. Blocks and erases all extraneous messages. When you share a message, do it with extreme caution. Evaluate your contact list to have only trusted people in it.

2. Watch messages

There are many details that can tell us if a message is trustworthy or not . If an unknown number sends us a message, we must first check for spelling errors. We should always be wary of being asked to open a link or share our personal information or even if they ask us to share the message.

We will also avoid touching links where you ensure that a new WhatsApp feature is activated . Also those who report a mandatory payment to continue using WhatsApp. Keep in mind that WhatsApp will not notify you of any payment or new feature directly with a message and much less with a private phone number.

3. Block messages from unknown people

If you receive a message from an unknown number that you did not expect, it is best to block it . It is very easy to do so and avoid possible spam that number in the future.

4. Report Suspicious Messages

WhatsApp wants to improve its service and fight against the scammers and the creators of spam, therefore they expect that reports to accounts that are dedicated to doing this type of acts . You can contact WhatsApp in the settings, just below "Help".
