According to Tim Cook, there are "good omens for the iPhone 8"

In addition to Tim Cook's comments and answers to press questions about Apple's earnings, Cook has spoken to The Wall Street Journal, sharing some thoughts on the company's successful Q3 fiscal and predictions for the iPhone 8.

While iPhone sales were flat for the quarter as expected, it is believed that the new iPhone 8 will bring good expectations. The new range of iPad Pro along with updated Macs that brought Thunderbolt 3 to the iMac and a minor update of MacBook Pro helped Apple to achieve a stronger Q3 than usual .

"We have some momentum ," Chief Executive Tim Cook said. "A lot of things we've been working on for a long time are starting to show in the results. "

When asked about iPhone 7 and 7 Plus sales, Cook admitted a fall, but remained optimistic that the calm would translate into more demand from the iPhone 8:

"We think there is a pause, but that augurs well for the future," he said.

Apple's guidance for the fourth quarter is for revenue of $ 49- $ 52 billion, compared with $ 46.9 billion for the same quarter a year earlier. Although this represents some growth due to the iPhone's next anniversary, it suggests that if a super cycle with the iPhone 8 occurs, it will occur in 2018, Apple Q1 or later.

As for the upcoming Apple iOS 11 update, Tim Cook told CNBC today that ARKit is going to make the iPhone even more valuable to consumers .

"The smartphone is becoming even more important to people because it is going through much of its life and you can tell by some of the things we did at WWDC that it will just continue ," Cook told CNBC Josh Lipton. "And with things like RA I think it becomes even more essential than it actually is. I know it's hard to believe, but I think that's the case . "
