Apple announces that it has already sold more than 1200 million iPhone

Tim Cook announced today that Apple has sold more than 1200 million iPhone, a milestone reached in just a decade, as we started counting from June 18, 2007. The news was announced during the announcement of Apple's Q3 2017 earnings And comes a year after Apple revealed that it had sold 1000 million iPhone .

In July 2016, Apple confirmed that it had sold one billion phones to date , with Tim Cook promoting the device as one of the most important, changing and successful products in history. "In addition, this means that Apple has sold about 200 million iPhone in the last year, selling around 41 million units in the third quarter of 2017."

This is what Cook said in today's earnings announcement regarding the iPhone:

"The iPhone results were impressive, with a particularly strong demand at the top end of our line. The iPhone 7 was our most popular iPhone and iPhone 7 Plus sales rose dramatically compared to 6s Plus in the June quarter of last year. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus set has been strong this year . "

The figures speak for themselves, since a decade after the initial iPhone launch, the Californian company has surpassed the accumulated 1200 million iPhone sold.

Apple will also celebrate the iPhone's 10-year anniversary later this year, when it unveils the iPhone 8 (or whatever it may be called). The launch of that device will only increase sales of Apple units .
