Hacking an iPhone 7 has never been so easy

Yesterday the alarms went off. The EverythingApplePro channel published a video in which thanks to a "magic box" valued at 500 dollars could be hacked the models iPhone 6, iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 with a simple and short password. Between this hack and the Touch ID that was also known a couple of days ago , the security of the terminals of Cupertino were put in question.

The tool in question is a box that generates passwords and takes advantage of certain bugs that appear to be, do not exist in iOS 11 . It basically works in a way similar to other gadgets used by security forces to access closed places by codes. It simply creates passwords until it hits the right one (very similar to how Wi-Fi is hacked), something that can cost you more or less time but that always ends in success.

Apparently, it's not so much device issue itself (in fact, in theory the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus are the most modern models), but operating system. And it is acting on iOS 10, taking advantage of a bug that breaks the security of the device if you make several attempts in a short period of time. Come on, in less than 10 minutes you can have a completely unlocked iPhone.

You can see how it works in the video:

Is my iPhone in danger?

The premises for this box to work and make an iPhone are:

  • An iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus.
  • You have recently changed your password
  • It takes about 10 minutes without being used
  • 4-digit password

So you just need these things and unlimited access to the terminal (because if they catch you in an oversight while you go to the bathroom they will not give you time).

If your password is 6 digits, with this tool you could remove the password, but it could take up to 374 days to do so. In the case of a 4-character PIN, a maximum of 3 days is required. So in case you had any doubts, what are you waiting for to put a 6 character PIN? By the way, you already had a password of 6 characters, this time of hacking goes until the 19 years. And if you spend a lot of time with your 4-digit PIN, the delay will be up to 70 days.

Fortunately, everything will be much simpler with iOS 11, because this bug has already been rectified and will not allow hacking ..
