How to save data in WhatsApp with 3 simple tricks

Having a data connection available on our mobile device is essential, at least if we want our cell phone to be useful - and no, just having calls and messages is not for most of us. And for whatever reasons, most users have a data plan that will be depleted sooner rather than later.

If you are one of these users, in this article we are going to leave you three ways to prevent WhatsApp from swallowing all your precious megas .

1. Disable automatic download of photos, audio and video

No matter if you are in multiple WhatsApp groups as if you have the typical aunt that fills you with "motivational" mobile phone memory photos, your data plan will thank you for turning this feature off . To deactivate it you have to do the following:

  •     We go to the Settings tab.
  •     We tap on Data usage and storage .
  •     We changed the settings for each of the options to " Wi-Fi " or " Never ", it's up to you.

Okay, images, audio and videos will no longer be downloaded automatically , but you'll have to be the one you choose to see on your device. It is a function that helps more disabled than on.

2. No more backups, please

We know that a backup never hurts . In fact, it is highly recommended to always have this option enabled in case we lose or format our device.

However, it is not so necessary to be activated in the middle of our graduation in which we were trying to save our data to upload a story to Instagram later. If you want to limit backups, follow these steps :

  •     Go to the WhatsApp Settings section.
  •     Touch Chats .
  •     Here, tap on Back up chats .
  •     In the Automatic Copy option you can change the frequency with which these copies are made. Select the one that suits you best.

3. How to save data on audio calls

If you use WhatsApp audio calls very often, you've probably noticed a significant drop in your mobile data . So that this does not happen again, we leave you a quick solution:

  •     Enter the WhatsApp settings .
  •     Touch Data usage and storage .
  •     In the Call Settings section, activate the Data usage down switch.

And ready. Now WhatsApp will not consume all megas when you're talking on the phone.

If your data plan is quite limited - like that of a server - we are sure that you can take advantage of all these options.

WhatsApp consumes you too much? Leave us your answer in the comments!
