Making Chinese iPhone copies is now easier than ever

Year after year we see dozens and dozens of Android smartphones inspired by Apple's iPhone. Well, to be more precise, these are blatant copies of the iPhone . But they usually fail at the same thing, the iconic Home button of the terminal.

Now that the iPhone X no longer has the physical startup button, for iPhone manufacturers of Chinese copies will be much easier to copy the design of the terminal , offering very similar smartphones at a much more affordable price.

After the goodbye of the iPhone X home button (iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will still have it) it will be even harder to differentiate a Chinese copy of an original iPhone . Especially in those units manufactured by companies that manage to nail the design without side bevels.

For many copies, the iPhone will remain unique

Most iPhone-like smartphones come from Chinese companies like Huawei, OnePlus, Xiaomi and Oppo. But there are a lot of other small brands that attract consumers simply by making copies of the iPhone with much cheaper hardware.

While some companies hide it, Oppo are not afraid to say that their smartphones take inspiration from Apple .

In countries like United States and the United Kingdom the iPhone X will sell great. But globally, things will change. In many countries, like Spain without going further, dominates Android . So it is very likely that you may cross the street with some copy of the iPhone X very soon.

The most difficult to copy will be the side bezels of the iPhone X. It's not as easy as it seems, and most Android smartphone manufacturing companies will not want to focus all their efforts on mass-production of a terminal until they see the success (or failure) in sales of the iPhone X.
