Surprise! The iPhone 8 has a smaller battery than the iPhone 7

On paper, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are theoretically better than the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus in almost everything except one thing: the capacity of your battery . During the keynote explained that the battery would be "similar" to the previous models, but now from the Chinese company TENAA (an organization similar to FCC), it is shown that the batteries are not only not the same but are even smaller .

The iPhone 8 battery will have a capacity of 1,821mAh battery, slightly lower than the 1,960mAh of the iPhone 7. With the Plus models the difference is still greater : the iPhone 8 Plus will integrate a battery of 2.675mAh for the 2.900mAh of the iPhone 7 Plus.

However, thanks to the optimization of iOS 11 and some hardware components like the prodigious A11 bionic chip, more energy efficient, the autonomy can be similar or even greater . But taking into account that the main complaint of the users of iOS has always been the battery life, was it so much more expensive to put it?

Well, it seems to be. The reason could be that the mechanism that allows inductive wireless charging of new terminals takes up more space, so the only option was to embed a smaller battery, which should not be noticeable thanks to optimization of both software and hardware . And better, because the battery is vital to the satisfaction of users.

Meanwhile, Apple's competition is still betting on older batteries , while in Cupertino does not seem to care too much about this feature. Without going any further, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus models have 3.000mAh and 3.500mAh, respectively.
