Why the co-founder of Apple is not going to buy the iPhone X

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak said he is in no hurry to buy the next iPhone, although he usually rushes to do it on opening day .

" I'd rather wait and see that. I'm happy with my iPhone 8, which is the same as the iPhone 7, which is the same as the iPhone 6, for me, "said Wozniak, speaking at the Money 20/20 conference . " For some reason, the iPhone X is going to be the first iPhone that does not buy it on the first day. But my wife will, so I'll be close enough to see it . "

Wozniak, who is known for bringing several new phones at a time, has made the remarks just before the pre-order sales , which open on Friday, October 27.

For more than a year before its release, the iPhone X was hailed as a revolutionary new form factor that could generate a "super-cycle" of sales. The phone, introduced in September, features a 5.8-inch OLED screen, edge to edge, with a smaller chassis than the iPhone 8 Plus. It also has the long-awaited Face ID.

But Wozniak also said he was skeptical that the Face ID function works the way it is supposed to .

Wozniak is not the only viewer who is not sure about what the new phone will bring. Because the iPhone 8 and iPhone X were not launched at the same time this year, some analysts have had trouble understanding why the phones will be sold well .

Surveys show that a high percentage of consumers plan to buy a new iPhone in the next three months but that the iPhone 8 series represents a smaller share of sales than the new iPhones this time last year, according to UBS analyst Steven Milunovich .

" This softness could be good or bad depending on whether users are waiting on the iPhone X, " Milunovich wrote in a note Monday.

Venture capitalist Gene Munster noted that Google's "iPhone" searches appear to have dropped 10 percent year on year . But Munster said his company polls show "positive data points for Apple."

" The launch of the iPhone 8 was disappointing compared to previous iPhone releases, but this is not bad news for Apple. This year's iPhone cycle will have its units and revenues divided between the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X, "wrote Munster. " Historically, about half of the iPhones purchased in a given year are the most recently released models. This augurs well for the revenue growth of the iPhone . "

We know, time will give or take reasons . Wozniak is a tanned man and his opinion is always taken into account.
