It's official: Touch ID, goodbye forever

Dan Riccio, Apple's director of hardware engineering, recently talked about rumors suggesting that the apple bite company was planning to include Touch ID functionality under the OLED screen, on the back or on the side of the iPhone X .

According to Apple's chief engineer, these rumors are completely false. That is, the Cupertino firm never planned to incorporate the Touch ID fingerprint reader on the OLED screen or anywhere else on the next-gen smartphone.

Although it is hard to believe, there were probably many Apple engineers who thought of ways to include the Touch ID function. But they would never try to implement it, they would be simple theories. Be that as it may, Dan Riccio said that Apple "did not waste time" in developing new ways for Touch ID because they were totally focused on perfecting Face ID, the facial recognition function of the iPhone X.

Apple will withdraw the Touch ID on all 2018 iPhones

Rumors about the implementation of the Touch ID function on the iPhone X screen began to appear in May 2016, so it is possible that the company at least explored the idea but never proceeded with its development.

Other sources seemed to corroborate the numerous rumors about the Touch ID on the OLED screen.

On the other hand, it is noteworthy to mention that the always reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities predicted that the iPhone X would not have Touch ID. But the most interesting thing is that the analyst says that no new iPhone in 2018 will have the Touch ID fingerprint reader , all models will implement Face ID facial recognition technology.

Face ID has turned out to be a pretty safe feature in the first impressions and analysis of Apple's iPhone X. Do you think it's better than Touch ID? Which method is more efficient?
