The iPhone X has a mysterious chip among its hardware

It is a bird? It is a plane? No, it's a chip, and nobody knows what function it has. That's right, Apple's iPhone X has a mysterious chip incorporated among all the components of its hardware.

We recently talked about the teardown of iFixit , highlighting the great work of Apple to reduce the size of hardware elements to make room for a battery in the form of "L" divided into two parts. But we did not mention something very curious, the existence of a new chip that seems to be mounted on the OLED screen itself.

The chip in question, is of a considerable size and is located at the bottom of the iPhone X.

"There is a mysterious chip between the taptical motor and the lower speaker."

That's how iFixit talked about the chip. In the image that we attach below, you will be able to appreciate the chip with square shape and marked with a green mark. Is it a circuit to improve wireless charging ? Is it a benefit for the taptical motor?

It could, also, be a simple driver. But it is attached to the lower speaker and it has also been discovered that STMicro won the OLED screen driver. So this theory is discarded.

But ... after a while investigating, it has finally been discovered that this mysterious chip of the iPhone X is a touch screen controller. The chip has been identified as BCM15951B0KUB2G and belongs to Broadcom.

Mystery solved! The iPhone X still reserves many surprises inside . Apple has had to devise them to implement different hardware components in order to offer all the novelties, features, features and functions that users are enjoying right now in their brand new iPhone X. And you, you already have yours? Have you preferred to opt for an iPhone 8 or an iPhone 8 Plus?
