Google launches the "Go" edition of Android Oreo for cheap smartphones

In August of this year, Google officially announced the new lite version of its new operating system Android Oreo Go ( Version of Android Oreo ), which has been the mobile operating system "smarter, faster and more powerful than any". The "Go Edition" has been developed for low-cost, low-memory Android smart devices, that is, with low-end or low-end specifications.

This announcement is nothing new, since in the past Google I / O 2017 announced the named project. However, until that moment it was not finished, and it will take a little more time to achieve the launch of the first phones with this particular operating system, that is, devices with 512 MB to 1 GB of RAM

Android Oreo Go: All in a low-range phone

The technological giant affirms that the new version of the Android platform brings three main improvements:

The operating system:

You will have considerable improvements in performance and storage, as well as integrated data and security management functions.

Google applications:

In this new operating system, the applications will be much lighter and will tend to adapt to the needs of those who access the network for the first time.

The Play Store:

Android Oreo Go comes with an updated version of Google services, which includes the Play Store store. From here, the user can download any application, but in the store they will highlight those applications that most adhere to the specifications of their new Android smartphone.

The goal is to make the experience more fluid and faster, even on models with 512MB and 1GB of RAM. It should be clarified that the Android Oreo Go is not being a fork of Android, but rather represents a variant that manufacturers can attach to their new mobile devices.

The operating system has its own collection of special applications for it, such as Google Go, Google Assistant Go, YouTube Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go, Gboard, Google Play, Chrome and the new Google Maps application.

The Go Edition will be officially available tomorrow, December 6, with Android 8.1, however, after the launch of Android Oreo (Go Edition) and in the following months, the partners will offer the public the first terminals based on the specific variant of Android. These equipments are designed mainly for emerging markets, therefore, it is foreseen that they will not be able to ensure their arrival in all countries worldwide.
