Pokémon GO now with Augmented Reality + only on iPhone

A few months ago, we could see during Apple's annual developer conference, WWDC, how Apple presented to the public its commitment to the development of apps for augmented reality. In order to facilitate the creation of applications for the platform, the company shared with the community a series of tools, which we know as ARKit . Thanks to this movement by Cupertino, users have been able to start enjoying new developments as never before.

However, the increased popularity of augmented reality comes from before, and we can indicate the culprit of this sudden takeoff. The game Pokémon GO, managed to bring to our world some of the most famous creatures in the world. And now, it is that same game that will benefit from the improvements that have been implemented in iOS in order to optimize augmented reality apps.

From now on you can see your Pokémon from all angles

Using the technology of the cameras of the latest iPhone and iPad, and the tools of ARKit, a new function known as AR + has been implemented, which substantially improves the user experience with this technology. You can have a look at the Pokémon as close as you want and with the highest quality you've ever seen. In addition, the battery consumption with this function should be reduced, thanks to the optimization of ARKit.

But, unfortunately, this function is not for everyone. Only users with an iPhone 6S or higher or an iPad Pro or higher can use this new Pokémon GO feature. If your device is not compatible, you will still have the possibility to use the classic augmented reality mode of the game.

And you, are you still playing Pokémon GO?
