The iPhone does not turn on, SOS! What can I do in these cases?

Let's cross our fingers so that this case never occurs but imagine it: your iPhone (or your iPad) does not turn on. Come on, that the screen is black and does not seem to respond to the buttons. Tranquility, before throwing our hands to our heads and calling the technical service , we will try the following measures. And if it still does not turn on, it's time to contact Apple .

Restart your device

Whether the screen is black or does not respond, we will have to do a forced restart. This type of reboot does not erase the content of the device , so nothing happens by trying.

We can do a forced reboot even when it seems that the iPhone or iPad are turned off or the buttons seem to not respond. How to do it?

On an iPhone X, iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus : Press and release the volume up button. Press and release the volume down button. Then hold down the side button until you see the Apple logo.

On an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus : Press the side button at the same time and the volume down button for at least 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

If you have an iPhone 6s or earlier, iPad or iPod Touch : Press and hold the Home button and the side button for at least 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo.

If your device still does not respond normally, it 's time to try the following .
Connect your device to the current

Connect your iPhone or iPad to the current and let it charge for at least an hour . After the first few minutes of charging, the typical loading screen should appear, showing a battery animation.

If the screen is still black after an hour of charging or you see the screen connecting to the power, check that you have properly connected the charger to both the device and the power and that the USB is properly fixed.

Is the charger properly assembled? Is the cable bent or broken? Maybe you should try using another charger or try it on another compatible device to verify that what is wrong is the charger and not the iPhone or iPad.
If your device turns on but gets stuck at the start

Imagine that your device has finally booted but the black screen with the Apple logo stays on the screen for a long time, or a red or blue screen appears . If this happens, you should try the following:

Connect the device to a computer and open iTunes . If you do not have a computer, Apple can help you in this task in an Apple Store or authorized retail store.

Once connected, we will do a recovery in the following way:

On an iPhone X, iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus : Press and release the volume up button. Press and release the volume down button. Then hold down the side button and do not let go when the Apple wolf appears, just do it when you see the recovery screen.

On an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus : Press the side button at the same time and the volume down button for at least 10 seconds until you see the recovery screen. Do not stop pressing them with the Apple logo.

If you have an iPhone 6s or earlier, iPad or iPod Touch : Press and hold the Home button and the side button for at least 10 seconds until you see the recovery screen. Do not stop pressing them with the Apple logo.

When you see the option to restore or update, choose to update . iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without deleting your data by downloading the software to your device. If it costs more than 15 minutes, you will have to repeat the recovery process.

If with all this we can not get our device back to normal , now it will touch contact Apple .
