Samsung introduces the first Curved Monitor QLED and Thunderbolt 3

Samsung introduced the first QLED Curved Monitor with Intel Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, in the lobby of CES 2018. It is QLED CJ791 QLED Curved Monitor with Intel Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, which improves performance and presentation of content for professional users and gamers .

The brand new QLED Curved Monitor model is called CJ791, has 34 inches and -according to the manufacturer- boasts an exceptional processing speed and image quality. Through the Thunderbolt 3 cable, users can connect the monitor to their laptop without the need for other cables. Thunderbolt 3 has processing speed of up to 40 Gigabits per second (Gbps), almost four times faster than USB.

In addition, QLED Curved Monitor can be connected to a complete ecosystem of terminals like other displays and peripheral devices, including Mac, USB Type C, and other desktop accessories such as storage drives and external graphics cards.

The design of the screen shows few bevels on the top and sides, although it does have a somewhat thick bevel at the bottom. The metal body extends to the round base characteristic of many Samsung monitors.

"As a pioneer of the curved monitor industry, Samsung continues to look for new ways to refine our screens and exceed consumer expectations for improved performance and presentation," said Seog-gi Kim, executive vice president of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. .

"The CJ791 aligns Thunderbolt 3 connectivity with our best curves and QLED image quality to captivate users, and at the same time promotes better organization and productivity. We are happy to share the capabilities of our new and innovative screen with CES 2018 attendees. "

Designed for gaming, designers and the office, the monitor has a screen with aspect ratio of 21: 9, QHD resolution of 3440 × 1440 and a high density of pixels. According to Samsung, the display offers bright and realistic details; deeper blacks and pristine tones that guarantees "a total immersion in each scene", and comes to compete with the screen of the same dimensions of LG. More details will be presented at the CES.

Only a few days are left for CES, the great technology fair in Las Vegas , the largest consumer electronics fair that will take place next week from 9 to 12 January. The screens want to be protagonists. For its part, LG said that it will present improved models of its popular line of monitors with Nano IPS technology that, he assures, takes the capabilities of color reproduction to a new level.
