This is A12, the processor of the iPhone 2018

Apple has chosen the TSMC company as the sole manufacturer of its new generation processors. The "A12" processors will be integrated into the new 2018 iPhone models . And, probably, also in most tablets of the company of the bitten apple.

According to the sources, the A12 chip will be manufactured using the 7-nanometer process and will incorporate a very advanced "ultraviolet" technology.

On the other hand, it has recently been discovered that Samsung will incorporate an Exynos 9810 processor in the Galaxy S9 and in the Galaxy Note 9 to compete with Apple's iPhone X.

The A12 processor will increase the performance of the iPhone of 2018

TSMC is already the only company in charge of supplying A11 Bionic chips for the iPhone 8, for the iPhone 8 Plus and for the iPhone X. It is even rumored that it was also the exclusive supplier of the A10 Fusion chips of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Be that as it may, TSMC has managed to improve its technology and employ a never seen manufacturing process . In this way, they will allow to implement more transistors of smaller size.

If the data is accurate, it will be a catastrophe for Samsung, which has been trying to re-manufacture Apple processors for two years now. Both Samsung and TSMC supplied Apple with the A9 chips for iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone SE .

Some sources such as The Korea Herald indicated that Samsung secured the manufacturing of some of the A12 processors for the new iPhones of 2018. But this information has recently been denied by DigiTimes , implying that TSMC will be exclusively responsible for the orders of A12 chips for the 2018 series of the iPhone.

The new iPhone of 2018 could come under the nomenclature iPhone 9, iPhone 9 Plus and iPhone SE 2 . The new generation of Apple smartphones would be presented in September.
