What do iOS, iPhone and iPad need in 2018?

The truth is that, despite the controversy, 2017 has been a great year for both iOS and the iPhone and iPad. But a new year begins and it is the ideal time to ask what new features Apple can offer for 2018.

In this article we will combine the latest rumors with those features we want for the iPhone 9 , for the new generation iPad Pro and for iOS 12.

We would love to see an update of the iPhone X in 2018, regardless of its final nomenclature (iPhone XI, iPhone 11, iPhone X Plus, iPhone 9, iPhone 9 Plus ...). Ideally, the new iPhone models will have a fingerprint reader and a front camera integrated into the OLED screen . On the other hand, we also expect the arrival of a second generation iPhone SE with the same features as an iPhone 8 but at a lower price.

The new Apple iPad will be the protagonists of 2018. It is speculated that the tablets of the company of the bitten apple have a radical change in its design , with much reduced side bevels and with the withdrawal of the iconic Home button . This will give way to new tactile gestures and, perhaps, Face ID. But we do not want Touch ID to disappear, both functions could coexist perfectly. And finally, like every year, we want the addition of a USB-C port .

iOS 12

After all the criticism about the excessive battery consumption and the slowdown of the mobile operating system that has received iOS 11, Apple should work hard on iOS 12 . We expect slight changes in the user interface of the Control Center and some improvements in the activation of multitasking (for now you can only enable it from the Dock). And speaking of multitasking ... Plus models of the iPhone could also have compatibility with Slide Over and Split View.
