Apple patents a bizarre optical system with VR and AR

Today, the United States Patent and Trademark Office has published a new Apple patent related to the development of an optical system of virtual reality and augmented reality .

And is that there are more and more rumors circulating on the network about the possible launch of augmented reality helmets Apple, with an operating system called rOS, for 2019 or 2020.

In the patent of which we speak today, we see an extravagant device used for augmented reality ... but the priority of this curious device is virtual reality .

Apple looks for new ways to revolutionize the market

This optical system in which Apple could be working is specially designed to offer virtual reality content such as movies and videogames using voxel technology (a cubic unit that makes up a three-dimensional object).

Apple indicates in its patent that this type of device, such as virtual reality glasses, uses lenses to display images to a user. This system in particular would create individual images for each of the user's eyes . But integrating an additional lens could be placed between each user's eye that would also occupy a portion of each main lens to show the virtual reality content.

However, the continued use of a device with similar characteristics could be uncomfortable due to its weight. But this Apple design would be specially designed to avoid this problem.

The patent illustrations show a kind of tactile control that would help users to interact with visual content as it happens with virtual reality in video games and other multimedia content.

In principle, the hardware of this virtual reality device would have support with other electronic equipment such as buttons, joysticks, keyboards, touch sensors, trackpads, screens, microphones, speakers, accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetic sensors, gas sensors, pressure sensors And a long etcetera.

But, interestingly, the patent does not clearly reflect what kind of device Apple wants to develop. He suggests that they could be some glasses, some glasses, some helmets ... However, they do talk about their manufacturing materials: carbon fiber, wood, glass, plastic, aluminum, metal ...

What do you think about the development of this technology by Apple? Do you think the company will soon present a virtual reality headset and / or augmented reality?
