How to make calls with Wi-Fi if you do not have coverage

There are times when you are about to make a call and ... ups! no coverage. It is very uncomfortable, either because of problems with your carrier, or because you are in an area where there is no coverage ... How to solve it?

Fortunately Apple offers functionality to make calls through Wi-Fi connectivity . And it's really easy to activate. In this tutorial we will explain how to do it.

What are Wi-Fi calls?

If you have a weak signal of coverage, previously you had to wait for the service to be available. But that is not the case now. Wi-Fi calls allow you to send and receive calls without the need for coverage. As long as, of course, you are connected to a Wi-Fi network.

This functionality offers many advantages to users. Not only leaving aside the coverage and additional prices of your rate , but also allows you to make calls to another country totally free.

What devices are compatible with Wi-Fi calls?

To use this functionality on your device you will need an iPhone 5c (or later models) and have iOS 8.3 (or later versions) installed.

Wi-Fi calls can also be made from iPad and iPod touch (with iOS 9 and following versions), in Apple Watch (from watchOS 2) and Mac (2012 or later).
How to make a Wi-Fi call

1. Open the iOS Settings app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

2. Access the Telephone section.

3. Next, enter the option "Wi-Fi Calls".

4. Activate the functionality.

You will see a pop-up window that warns that the location and information of your identity will be accessible by your operating company . If you agree with these conditions, press accept.

From now on, all the calls you make will be through Wi-Fi connectivity . Although it is noteworthy to mention that in some cases you have to wait 24 hours until the function is activated.
