More delays: Apple removes AirPlay 2 from iOS 11.3

AirPlay 2, the interesting feature that Apple introduced to its devices with the arrival of the first beta of iOS 11.3, has been eliminated without any explanation on the part of the company. This feature allows us to interact in a different way with all the devices connected to our iPhone or iPad, we even dedicate an article to it .

However, along with the recent release of the third beta of iOS 11.3, users have been able to realize that AirPlay 2 has simply disappeared from all devices. This not only affected iOS, but also TVOS 11.3 which is also compatible with this feature.

AirPlay 2 is not the only thing that has gone

AirPlay 2 is not the only thing that has disappeared in the new beta of iOS 11.3. From the first beta of this version we could find the Apple TV in the Casa application, and we could configure it using HomeKit. However, there are no traces of this function anywhere in the application.

It is not certain if Apple plans to introduce both options in the next betas of iOS 11.3, but we are sure that this option will return . First, because now it is more necessary than ever with the departure of HomePod. Second, because it is a great advance in the way of interacting with the different rooms of our home at the same time.
More and more delays

AirPlay 2 was announced together with iOS 11 in June of 2017, and it was not until the first beta of iOS 11.3 that we were able to enjoy this function on compatible iPhone and iPad devices. AirPlay 2 allows us to make HomePod, Apple TV and other third-party accessories work as a whole, to make management a little smarter.

Thanks to this feature you can connect different audio devices together to have a better experience. For example, we can connect several HomePods regardless of what rooms they are in so that everyone can reproduce what we want at the same time.

Apple seems to be messing around a bit with the latest updates. Fortunately it is only a beta, so we should see this function in the near future.

Had you used AirPlay 2 already on your iPhone and iPad? Leave us your answer in the comments!
