The iPhone surpasses Samsung in 2017 and is already the best-selling brand

The financial results of Apple in the last four months of 2017 showed that the iPhone continues to lead the smartphone market . The 10 most popular phones have taken 77% of the market share, leaving behind a trail of more than 600 competing brands.

For its part, the iPad has also been the best-selling tablet in 2017, despite the fact that the sale of smartphones and tablets continues to plummet year after year . Sales, in fact, decreased by 5% these past Christmases.

Samsung started 2017 leading the smartphone market with 21% market share, but the iPhone exceeded the sales of the different models of the South Korean company in the last period.

The iPhone is still king, its sales confirm it

Curiously, during the last four months of 2017, the only companies that managed to exceed their own sales in reference to 2016 were OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi , the latter with a brutal growth of 83%.

It is worth noting the challenge that Apple has in progress, the apple bitten company continues to demonstrate that it has a great capacity for growth with its base of more than 1.300 million active devices .

Global sales of smartphones during the last four months of 2017:

In this Counterpoint statistics chart, we can see how Apple sold 77.3 million iPhone units, reaching a market share of 18.6% . While, for its part, Samsung sold 74.3 million units of smartphones.

Regional sales growth in the last four months of 2017:

Despite its amazing growth in Africa and India , Apple has not yet opened an Apple Store in these territories. But the company is expected to launch this initiative during the next two years.

The global growth of sales of smartphones will be directly related to the rate of update of users in the different regions. A longer cycle of device renewal will mean that companies will need to improve their products and enhance their marketing more and more.
