The iPhone X will improve your Face ID

If there is any characteristic element of the iPhone X is without a doubt the Face ID . Expected by all, had a somewhat compromising premiere in the keynote itself, although over time has emerged as a fairly safe and fast.

And we have known that the Office of Trademarks and Patents of the United States, has registered 39 of them for Apple. Among this cluster of projects are improvements in the identification system that supports the scanning depth engine technology of the iPhone X.

The new patent granted to Apple, which makes the number 9,898,074, is related to new methods and devices for the projection and capture of optical radiation , and an optical 3D mapping. This mapping system includes a transmitter, which " is configured to emit a beam that includes pulses of light, and a scanner, which is configured to scan the beam, within a predefined scanning range . "

After this technical chatter, it seems that the identification system that is used, and that is possible thanks to the TrueDepth, would be more effective in facial recognition and would allow the scanning of the face in positions that are now not possible, such as , from more committed angles.

And is that Face ID has been tested unofficially by many users , who have tried and sometimes managed to unlock using masks made with a 3D printer , or exchanging the phone between family members or twins . Although the error rate of this system is 1 in 1,000,000, the reality has shown otherwise .

Be that as it may, what is clear is that the Cupertino company intends to give impetus to this technology in its future devices , just as other brands have done, which also include an iris sensor.
