With this trick you can play Spotify on HomePod

The arrival last Friday at the HomePod stores is assuming that we get to know more details of this smart speaker. Although not available in Spain, there are many users who want to know details of this device .

One of the controversies that have been known is the incompatibility of this gadget with Spotify, apparently only be able to communicate with the music service of Californians , the famous Apple Music. This seat is throwing back many users when considering the purchase of HomePod.

Although you should not throw your hands in the head, because we leave you with a simple trick with which you can play music with your favorite streaming music service on the smart speaker.

How to play music on HomePod through Spotify

  •     First, connect both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your iOS device . Although HomePod uses AirPlay, the devices must be in the same network.
  •     Swipe up from the main screen , or down from the top right corner on the iPhone X.
  •     Find the Playback of widgets and 3D Touch to activate it, or in the two curved lines.
  •     Touch the icon in the upper right corner to connect to a device.
  •     Press on the HomePod to connect .

Once this is done, music playback from your iPhone will start at HomePod, regardless of the streaming service you use . You can use Siri with Spotify, but the interaction is somewhat limited. With Siri you can play, pause, jump, and adjust the volume using a third-party music service.

But you have to request the music in a specific way. You can not ask Siri to play a Spotify list. You should ask for music from your favorite artist or band or a specific song.
