Apple Music approaches Spotify, but not enough

Streaming music services are here to stay, and the way we use them now has made many people forget their collections of discs in physical format to enjoy almost endless nightclubs at very popular prices.

And in this world of online music we know that the person in charge is Spotify , created in Sweden in 2006 and that brings together 159 million active users, of which about 70 million are premium , that is, they pay to have access to musical catalog of the application.

Apple did not lose any bump on the need to provide its users with a similar music service, and that launched in 2015 was called Apple Music. The temptation offered by this service is the 90 days of free music to its catalog , consisting of some 40 million songs.

Although Apple Music has grown rapidly in recent times in its service, we remember that it does not have a free option like Spotify once the 90 days of testing have been exhausted . It currently has 38 million subscribers, having risen 5 percent in the last month.

The question is whether it will eventually reach Spotify that grows at a rate of 2 percent per month , compared to the aforementioned 5 percent of Apple Music. According to the North American media Wall Street Journal , the service of those of Cupertino could catch up to Spotify this summer.

Spotify has a legion of loyal followers and both services offer advantages that the other does not have, as we already detailed in this article . By the way, do you want to know which artist is the most heard in Apple Music? This is the singer of the island of Barbados Rihanna, who has achieved the dizzying figure of two billion views , beating the previous record set by Beyoncé.
