From iOS 12 to watchOS 5: all the software that we will see in 2018

Apple's WWDC 2018 is getting closer, the event is expected to take place between June 4 and 8 again at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. In this conference, all the news regarding the company's software will be announced .

Although, in addition to the new versions of iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS , Apple could present an iPhone SE 2 at WWDC this year. But it is something that is still not 100% confirmed.

From iPadizate, as we have been doing for years, we will make extensive coverage of the WWDC 2018. But at this point, we are so excited about the imminent presentation of Apple developers that we will compile a list of all Apple software versions that we will see in 2018.

Before starting, it is imperative to remember that Apple finds it much easier to protect all the details about your software before any possible leak than to do it with the hardware of your devices. And is that with the hardware, many more companies involved in assembly, manufacturing and supplies.

Even so, we have some clues about the software novelties of iOS 12, watchOS 5, macOS 10.14 and tvOS 12 .

iOS 11.3

The closest Apple software update is the iOS 11.3 version for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. This update will include functionality to manage the state of the battery and the performance of the operating system. Users will be able to disable this feature due to the risk of unexpected blackouts in order to improve the fluidity of their mobile devices.

On the other hand, iOS 11.3 will also include new Animojis for iMessage. In total, we talk about four additional models: a bear, a dragon, a skull and a lion . The Animojis, it should be remembered, are exclusively compatible with iPhone X.

Another of the most interesting novelties of iOS 11.3 is the update to ARKit 1.5 , Apple's augmented reality platform will be able to recognize vertical surfaces and obtain a much more accurate mapping of non-rectangular surfaces.

In addition, iOS 11.3 will bring a "Business" mode to iMessage and the ability to store messages in the cloud with iCloud. In addition, improvements will also be added to Apple News, Apple Music, HomeKit and the new AirPlay 2 .

watchOS 4.3, tvOS 11.3 and macOS 10.13.4

Along with iOS 11.3, Apple is preparing to release other software updates for Apple Watch, Apple TV and Mac . These versions will not be available as soon as iOS 11.3, but they will bring quite interesting changes.

As regards watchOS 4.3 , improvements will be included for the user interface. The control of music on the iPhone will be returned to the Music application and users will have the option of retransmitting content via AirPlay from iPhone to speakers using the Apple Watch controls.

As for tvOS 11.3 , it will offer highly anticipated benefits. The synchronization of the frame rate will no longer be only available on the Apple TV 4K. On the other hand, functions will be added to control the privacy of users.

macOS 10.13.4 will also include a privacy control, a new "Ink Cloud" wallpaper and messages can be stored in iCloud.

iOS 12

Apple will present iOS 12 during the WWDC of 2018 . We do not know all the details about the novelties of this version, but some rumors offer us very interesting clues ...

First, iOS 12 will host for the first time in the history of Apple the universal applications . These apps will be compatible with both iOS and macOS.

Second, it is essential to note that Apple will focus its efforts on improving the performance of iOS 12 instead of offering dozens of new features .

Among all the news we expect from iOS 12 , Apple is expected to redesign the home screen with iOS 12, CarPlay updates, improvements in the Notes format, new features of parental control , new emojis and the renewal of iBooks in the style of App Store introduced in iOS 11.

watchOS 5

Many features of watchOS 5 have not been filtered, but based on previous updates we could predict that watchOS 5 will include new areas with personalization options , improvements in sleep monitoring and the launch of new native applications for Apple Watch.

tvOS 12

The tvOS operating system is probably the system that needs more news to improve. tvOS 12 could incorporate Dolby Atmos support, new Siri features and perhaps the introduction of audiovisual content for Apple TV series.

macOS 10.14

To finish, we know that macOS 10.14 will bring universal applications and new tools so that developers can optimize their apps with support for this functionality. We could also see how Apple includes the TV app and compatibility with the "Hey Siri" function.
