How to set up Family and create an Apple ID for a child



The "En Familia" functionality is really useful, since it allows users to share content such as iCloud storage , Apple Music, App Store applications, location data and much more. Undoubtedly, this is an extremely useful feature if several members of your family have Apple mobile devices.

Apple offers the possibility of adding up to six people in a group of "En Familia" so they can share their contents. In addition, the group administrator will have the opportunity to establish settings such as parental controls and other restrictions.

En Familia was introduced in 2014 along with the launch of iOS 8. But, since then, Apple has added some very interesting features to the system . In this article we will explain, step by step, how to configure En Familia.

How to set up Family and create an Apple ID for minors

1. Open Settings.

2. Press on your profile.

3. Next, click on "Set As Family".


4. Click on the blue "Start" button.

5. Choose which category you want to share.

6. Follow the instructions until you see the option to invite family members.

7. Add as many members as you wish, the limit is six people.

You will need to have a credit card as the default payment method for using En Familia. After completing the steps in this tutorial, go back to the settings of your profile and press on En Familia to activate all the categories you want to use.

To invite more members of your family to use En Familia or to create an Apple ID so that a minor has the opportunity to download applications, click on the option to add a family member to En Familia . In the lower part you will see the option to create an account for a minor. That easy!
