Siri will stop filtering your WhatsApp very soon

We recently discovered that a new iOS 11 bug allowed Siri to filter your hidden messages from iPhone notifications. Well, Apple has been pronounced about it, and apparently the company is already working on solving the problem.

The bug is that any user could access the Siri voice commands for the assistant to read aloud messages WhatsApp, Telegram and other instant messaging apps (except iMessage) but were hidden in the lock screen.

The company of the bitten apple has always been characterized by concern for the privacy of its users . As we mentioned previously, Apple has talked about the matter, and these have been his words:

"We know this problem and it will be corrected soon in a new software update."

The bug affects iOS 11.2.6 and iOS 11.3

We do not know if Apple will correct this new bug of Siri and the notifications in the iOS version 11.2.7 or if they will do it directly with iOS 11.3 , since it is in beta but is about to be launched.

By asking Siri to read all notifications, this functionality also includes those notifications that are hidden. SMS and messages from the iMessage platform remain private. But Siri can read hidden messages from WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Telegram and even Gmail .

Until Apple is responsible for correcting this bug, there are two reliable methods to solve this privacy bug:

Turn off notifications on the application blocking screen from Settings> Notifications> Show previews .
Disable Siri when the device is locked from Settings> Siri and Search> Siri with locked screen .

Additionally, it is always advisable to deactivate all those options that the users believe appropriate from Settings> Touch ID and code> Allow access when blocked .

Hopefully Apple will correct the problem soon and the privacy of users will continue to remain shielded from prying eyes.
