The creator of WhatsApp recommends that you uninstall Facebook

He has messed up, and very fat. Brian Acton, the co-founder of WhatsApp Messenger (along with Jan Koum) has recently published a controversial tweet in which he urges users to remove Facebook from their mobile devices , participating in the hashtag #DeleteFacebook.

So far so good, all right, if it were not because Facebook acquired the WhatsApp Messenger messaging application for 19,000 million dollars four years ago, in February 2014.

As you can see below, Brian Acton indicated "It's time" next to the hashtag #DeleteFacebook in a tweet published today, March 21, 2018.

    It is time. #deletefacebook

Brian Acton worked on product testing at Apple, shortly after at Adobe Systems, and in 1996 he was hired by Yahoo. Years later, after not being able to be hired on Facebook , he worked with Jan Koum in the development of WhatsApp Messenger .

Facebook is in the spotlight after collecting personal data from its users

Nobody knows more about why this tweet, maybe Brian Acton is inviting all users to remove Facebook or is simply indicating that it is he who plans to do so . Be that as it may, the tweet has caused a stir on Twitter.

It is a hard blow for Facebook while the largest social network in the world is still fighting to stop a crisis after the news they shared from Cambridge Analytica. As reported, Facebook collected personal data from more than 50 million users .

Facebook shares have fallen by 10% since these curious reports came to light and the hashtag #DeleteFacebook is a way for users to protest the invasion of the privacy of the social network.
